The Treasurer is responsible for the receipt and collection of all moneys raised by taxation.
Department of Finance will either invest or disburse, in accordance with the guidelines set forth by the annual budget, any moneys received.
The Tax Collector is responsible for the billing, collection, reporting, and enforcement of
municipal taxes for the Township of Hillsborough. Property taxes are due on February 1, May 1, August 1, and November 1. Failure to receive a tax bill does not exempt you from paying taxes or the interest due on delinquent taxes. There is a 10-day grace period. Payments received after the 10th will have interest charged back to the due date. Postmarks are not accepted. If you recently purchased a property in Hillsborough and do not have a tax bill, please contact this office at (908) 369-8672 for the amount due, or look up the amount by clicking on Tax Information Lookup.
Office Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Property tax payments can also be paid via the link on this page, mailed to our office or put in one of our drop boxes (checks only – no cash) located outside of the Finance Department and in the vestibule at the Police Department entrance.
