Hillsborough Encourages Early Voting
Choose to vote, in person, when it’s most convenient for your schedule AND avoid long lines on Election Day
“Hillsborough Township is encouraging residents to take advantage of early voting to eliminate or at least reduce the amount of time spent waiting in line on Election Day,” said Mayor Robert Britting, Jr. at the September 24th Township Committee meeting. “As 2024 is a presidential election year, the Township is expecting a high turnout, which can mean longer time spent waiting to vote. “
Early Voting, like voting on Election Day, allows registered voters to cast their ballot in person using a voting machine. Early voting for the 2024 General Election will take place at the Municipal Building from Saturday, October 26th, 2024, through Sunday, November 3, 2024. Early voting hours are Monday through Saturday, 10:00 am - 8 pm, and Sunday, 10 am - 6 pm. Residents don't need an appointment for early voting and it’s located at the Municipal Building regardless of your polling location on Election Day. Alternatively, the drop box for mail-in ballots is now open at the Municipal Building.
Anyone wishing to track their mail-in ballot can do so at the New Jersey Voter Information Portal. Voting on Election Day takes place on Tuesday, November 5th from 6:00 am until 8:00 pm. Residents who aren’t sure where to vote can look up their polling locations at the New Jersey Division of Elections. For more information about voting and the election please see the Hillsborough Township Voting Information page.
“Residents who work on November 5th or who don’t have time to stand in line, have other options,” added Mayor Britting. “Early voting and mail-in voting take minutes.”
