NJDOT Statement in Response to Route 206 Subcontractor Identity
The New Jersey Department of Transportation has released the following statement in response to the question of the identity of the equipment and workers currently on the job site of the Route 206 Construction Project:
NJDOT: "Konkus has NO involvement with this project. As part of the agreement between Konkus and Surety Company, the Surety Company will use Konkus equipment to complete the project. The new contractor, Roman Asphalt, has “rebranded” the equipment, so there is no confusion or misunderstanding. Everyone works for Roman, although some workers may have formerly worked for Konkus on this project."
