Recreation Winter Basketball League Returns with New Division for Young Players!

Hillsborough Recreation’s popular Winter Basketball League is back - and now 1st and 2nd graders can join the fun!  Don’t miss your shot to be part of the 2026–2027 Winter Basketball season!

Previously offered to students in grades 3 - 12, the league is expanding to give even more young players the opportunity to learn the game, build confidence, and have fun on the court.

🏀 New! 1st & 2nd Grade Division

This new division gives Hillsborough families a local option for introductory basketball, so there’s no need to travel to surrounding towns to find a program for their young players.

Designed as a fun introduction to the sport, each Saturday will include:

• 30 minutes of practice followed by a 30 minute game

• Skill development and fundamentals

• Teamwork, sportsmanship, and FUN!

It’s a great way for young players to get comfortable on the court while learning the basics of the game in a fun, recreational environment.

🏀 Boys League | Grades 3 - 12

Older players can continue their basketball experience through the Boys Winter Basketball League, offering recreational play throughout the winter season.

Players will participate in weekly practices (Grades 3-8) and games, with an emphasis on skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and enjoying the game.

🏀 Girls Cross-Town League | Grades 3 - 6

The Girls Cross-Town League gives players the opportunity to represent Hillsborough while competing against teams from neighboring communities.

Games are played in Hillsborough and surrounding towns, giving players the chance to experience a little more competition while continuing to develop their skills and love of the game.

Something for Every Young Basketball Player

Whether your child is picking up a basketball for the first time or has been playing for years, Hillsborough Recreation has an opportunity to get them on the court this winter.  All divisions focus on skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and most importantly - having fun!
