Army Veteran and Hillsborough Township Police Corporal Frank Polizzi to Serve as 2026 Grand Marshal
Program set for May 23rd, 2026
HILLSBOROUGH, N.J. — “It is my honor to announce that Hillsborough Township Police Corporal and Army Veteran Frank Polizzi will lead Hillsborough’s 2026 Memorial Day Commemoration Ceremony on May 23rd, as the Grand Marshal of the Parade,” announced Mayor Catherine Payne at the March 24th Township Committee meeting
Corporal Polizzi served in the United States Army from 2011 to 2019, transitioning between Active Duty and Reserve while attaining the rank of Sergeant. Throughout this tenure, Polizzi served as a Civil Affairs Specialist (38B) with the 95th Civil Affairs Brigade and a Chemical Operations Specialist (74D) with the 411th Chemical Company, balancing responsibilities in CBRN defense readiness with high-stakes civil-military operations. This expertise was notably applied during a deployment to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, where Corporal Polizzi served as a vital liaison between U.S. forces and local authorities, helping to maintain stability and community engagement in complex environments.
The Memorial Day Commemorative Program will kick off with the Salute to Military Service Breakfast at the Peter J. Biondi Municipal Building at 7:30 a.m. It will be followed by the Memorial Day Parade, which will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the intersection of Auten and Triangle Roads. The event will conclude with the ceremony at the Garden of Honor at the parade finish line. The Salute to Military Service Breakfast will be held May 23rd, rain or shine.
“Hillsborough is proud to honor Corporal Polizzi for his outstanding service to this Township and to the United States of America,” said Committeeman and Parks and Recreation Liaison, Robert Britting, Jr.
All Hillsborough Military Service personnel are invited to participate in the ‘Salute to Military Service’ Breakfast and to lead Hillsborough’s Memorial Day Parade and Commemoration Program on May 23rd.
