Somerset County Office of Veterans Services Provides Support for Local Veterans

The Somerset County Office of Veterans Services, now staffed with three Veteran Services Officers, provides counseling, information, and referral services to local military veterans and their families to help them navigate the process of obtaining entitled benefits. A core function of the office is to assist with the application process for benefits from the Veterans Administration (VA) and other federal and state agencies, ensuring that veterans receive the financial and supportive services to which they are entitled. Beyond benefits assistance, the office maintains a close relationship with county veterans' organizations, orchestrates the issuance of internment memorial markers and grave flags, and provides support for local memorial and patriotic ceremonies. They serve as a key resource in the county for all veteran-related inquiries and assistance.
