Amwell Road "Road Diet"
As part of the County’s current resurfacing project, the section of Amwell Road (CR 514) from Route 206 to Beekman Lane will be milled and repaved. In conjunction with this milling and paving, a Road Diet will be implemented along Amwell Road from just west of Auten Road/Raider Boulevard to Beekman Lane. The Road Diet will convert the existing four-lane roadway to a three-lane roadway, providing one through lane in each direction, a center two-way left-turn lane, and wider shoulders. Road Diets have been proven to improve safety for motorists and pedestrians. The new lane configuration can calm traffic, reduce weaving, reduce the number of travel lanes that pedestrians must cross, and reduce left turn conflicts by separating left turning traffic outside of the through travel lanes.
