Since its inception in 2021, this annual fall event has grown in popularity. The fifth anniversary of the Scarecrow Festival promises to be a vibrant and whimsical celebration that brings the community together in a joyful display of creativity and tradition. This milestone event will feature an array of uniquely designed scarecrows, each crafted with imagination and skill by local artists, families, and schools.

Attendees can stroll through the festival grounds, marveling at the inventive characters, which range from classic scarecrows to contemporary pop culture icons. The festival provides the opportunity to showcase the remarkable creativity and talent of our residents and local businesses. On October 29th, the festival will culminate in an awards ceremony, celebrating the most outstanding and creative scarecrow designs, presentation of trophies, and seasonal refreshments will be served. Whether you’re a returning visitor or a first-time attendee, the fifth anniversary of the Scarecrow Festival is sure to offer unforgettable memories and a delightful experience for all ages.

Beginning August 12th, interested parties can register by filling out the form located on the Hillsborough Township website, Facebook page, Mayor’s eNews, and Experience Hillsborough Newsletters. A registration link will also be sent to Hillsborough businesses through the HBA newsletter. Local businesses and organizations are encouraged to utilize this unique opportunity to advertise and raise awareness at no cost.

Online voting for visitors to choose their favorite scarecrows will be available from September 28th to October 29th. Votes can be cast via QR codes located throughout the display area or through a form on the Township website.
