Hillsborough Township Designated as a “Healthy Town” for 2024 by the Mayors Wellness Campaign

Hillsborough Township is once again designated as a “Healthy Town” by the Mayor’s Wellness Campaign.

Hillsborough Township joined the Mayors Wellness Campaign in 2006, pledging to increase awareness about healthy living. In 2025, Hillsborough Township remains steadfast in that resolve, with even more programs and initiatives encouraging and focusing on healthy alternatives for both employees and residents.

Each year, communities participating in the MWC complete a comprehensive Healthy Town Application outlining the research they’ve done to identify their community health needs and explaining how they have organized their local MWC commiee.

The application also highlights the actions that towns have taken to make their communities healthier places to live, work, and play. Hillsborough’s Healthy Town designation is the result of programming that includes employee wellness activities, “Community Yoga” events, education about mental health and stigma, senior wellness, and programs aimed at underserved populations.

“Hillsborough Township is honored to again be recognized by the Quality Institute as a 2024 Healthy Town, the Gold Level Designation," said Mayor John Ciccarelli. “The Mayors Wellness Commiee's mission is to improve the health and wellness of our community, and it is through innovative and creative programs and outreach that we continue to engage our residents in a healthy manner."
